Swear by homeschooling or unschooling.

Deeply care about whether our teens will like us.

Strongly assert that’s not our role to worry about.

Navigate shared custody or visitation with ex-partners.

Don’t have to.

But all of us swear by unwavering self-love and the usefulness of caffeine.

Ruchi Chaudhury

Ruchi is an Indian family law attorney and solo mother. She lives with her three children, who follow her everywhere. Like, everywhere. Of said children, only two out of three (hint: the furry variety) can be crated for training purposes. The remaining one though…

Ruchi founded Solo Mom Sorority in August 2025 so single mothers in India could write about their experiences and musings for a newsletter of the same name. Soon after, the Sorority began curating book-reading pop-ups, picnics, hikes, retreats, workshops and events exclusively for single mothers in India.
